about

Los Angeles based Correatown gives Billy Joel’s 1980's classic cut "This is the Time" her honey-voiced fingerprint with a minimalist and haunting re-imagining. Correatown's languid vocals effortlessly elicit a feeling of sadness, hope and nostalgia in a song about living in the moment, love, and embracing the present. With an evocative spare arrangement, she gently tweaks the original melody to suit her fluid sultry voice, delicately delivering the weight of Joel's poignant lyrics.

about

correatown Los Angeles, California

Correatown was a name someone called her once. Imagine the lights that slowly haze by when you're driving home late at night bleary eyed, or the night sky heavy with clouds just after a thunderstorm. It's Angela Correa's band daydream fully realized in a dark club filled with the reverberating layers of washy guitars, beautiful harmonies, growling fuzzed out analog synths and that voice. ... more

Track Name: This Is The Time
THIS IS THE TIME written by BILLY JOEL

We walked on the beach beside that old hotel
They're tearing it down now, but it's just as well
I never showed you everything a man can do
So stay with me baby, I've got plans for you

This is the time to remember but it will not last forever
These are the days to hold onto but we won't although we'll want to
These are the times, but time are going to change
You've given me the best of you, but now I need the rest of you

Did you know that before you came into my life
It was some kind of miracle that I survived
Someday we will both look back and have to laugh
We lived through a lifetime and the aftermath

This is the time to remember but it will not last forever
These are the days to hold onto but we won't although we'll want to
These are the times, but time are going to change
You've given me the best of you, but now I need the rest of you

Sometimes it's so easy to let the day slip on by
Without seeing each other at all
But this is the time you'll look back and so will I
Those will be the days you never can recall

And so we embrace again behind the dunes
This place is so cold on winter afternoons
But holding you close is like holding the summer sun
I'm warm from the memory of days to come

This is the time to remember but it will not last forever
These are the days to hold onto but we won't although we'll want to
These are the times, but time are going to change
You've given me the best of you, but now I need the rest of you
